Poker is a game that is played on certain strategies and the game is played on the basis of poker hands that the players posses. The value of the poker hands are determined by a preset ranking chart that are referred while playing the game. The hands in the poker are compared to the standard ranking system and the casino chips sets are put over the table tops according to the hands each player posses.
The winner is determined according to the predetermined ranking system and the player who has got the highest hand ranking wins the pot. In poker there are usually five set of cards which constitute the poker hands. Two of the hands that are dealt in the opening round over the poker table tops are known as the hole card and the community cards are dealt after the hole cards.
The hole cards are private to each player and can be viewed only by the respective player. The community cards are common to all the players seated around the full size poker tables and the cards are dealt face up unlike the hole cards which are dealt face down.
The hole cards are the opening hands that the players have and the only two cards that are private. After the opening round of betting the flop, which is the first set of three community cards, is dealt. These cards are common to all the players and they can use them to form their set of hands. The turn is the next community card dealt after the betting with clay poker chips over the poker tables. Only one card is dealt in the turn.
The river which is the final community card is the round in which the betting is finalized and the stakes are determined. The person with the highest ranking wins the pot and takes all the chip sets over the poker tables.
A straight flush is the highest ranking of hand and a player who has a straight flush has chances of wining the pot and can hence bet confidently. The next ranking is for ‘four of a kind’ after which the full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair and high cards precedes.
Evaluating your poker hands and trying to make the best out of the seven cards two hole cards and five community cards will help you determine the rank of your hand and bet using your chip sets whether you are playing with Texas holdem chips or Las Vegas chips. Determine whether the hands are favorable or not according to the preset ranking and then decide whether to raise, call or fold.
