Poker isn’t just a game, it’s an art form. Poker tables around the world have seen a surge in interest in recent years. What makes the game appealing to people from all different walks of life is the combination of skill and luck. Poker is about being able to read the players around your seat location, and in turn, not allowing them to read you.

While being dealt a good hand does up your odds of becoming the table’s chip leader, this game is just as much about your body language as it is your cards. People can say so much with the way that their body reacts to situations, without even opening their mouths. So, in a silent game like Poker, keeping your expressions to yourself is key.

You can use this information to your advantage in many ways. One of which would be to send mixed or confusing signals throwing other players of your tracks. Creating a fake “tell” is also a great way to lead others down the wrong path, distracting them from possible real giveaways. Doing something like raising a chip every other hand right before the river card is drawn in a game of Texas hold em’ should keep them guessing for rounds and rounds to come.
