When you are playing live poker at the poker tables, you will frequently notice players who will act quickly as well as those who will take their time. But there is a hidden trick here that can make you even harder to read, thus giving you a further advantage over your opponents and help you build on your poker chip lead.

There is a certain amount of time it takes you to come to a decision when you are playing a hand. Sometimes you know right away whether you want to throw in your clay poker chips and go for the pot, or throw in your cards. Other times it can take quite a while to come to a decision.

A good way to throw off your opponents is by trying to react in about the same time, every time. Even though when you are at the poker tables you might know right away that you’re going to call or fold, sometimes it is best to treat every decision like the hardest, decision and react in about the same time.

This way, every decision seems equally thought out and you are less likely to tell your opponent anything about what you have in your hand. If you always wait about 30 seconds to call or fold, it says nothing about how confident you are feeling in your hand. Pretty much all players have seen someone call a bet too enthusiastically and give away his hand. So take your time, and play consistently.
